Can't own one here, which makes you want to Yes you can! There are AR’s available that are NY SAFE ACT compliant! They took off all the “scary stuff!” Has a “fixed” magazine, too!

What type of AR only costs $370? They had some on sale here a year or so ago, and I believe they were around $650. One was a Smith and Wesson, the other a Bushmaster.

The AR 15 is the Harley of guns. No two the same and you can personalize, upgrade or change out any part, generally in your own workshop. my two favorite hobbies!

Can't own one here, which makes you want to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0d_OifClE9Qsure you can no bayonet lug , no threaded muzzle , no flash suppressor , no muzzle break, fixed stock so it is not a NY assault weapon but it will still take 10 round detachable magazines in classic politician fashion they hit every feature that "looks" mean really a bayonet lug , they are concerned you will stab some one with your gun

I own a replica of the "original American Assault rifle". .69 cal smooth bore flint lock French Charleville. Was good enough for George Washington....good enough for me.

Was good enough for George Washington....good enough for me. smooth bores were ok , it was the 46 cal rifled barrels the Red coats feared so much and banned in 1775 red coat generals absolutely hated it when continentals shoot them of their horse at 3 times the effective range of their smoothies. I wonder if is stung more when a 69cal ball was picked up melted in to two 46 cal balls and used to kill 2 red coats may not be 2 birds with one stone but certainly two crooks with one ball.

But when they were trying to define an assault rifle they were saying weapon used by the military. So my flint is the same as your AR. Used by our military. The Charleville is not considered an assault rifle though, I checked the web site to verify when New York forced the un S.A.F.E. act on us. My M1 Garrand is safe too. Just cant own an AR or anything resembling it.

Just cant own an AR or anything resembling it. I was doing a little looking at the safe act with a file and a hack saw you could keep from needing to register your AR15 as an assault rifle under the safe act they hate bayonet lugs , file it off , a hole new sight tower is 20 dollars , not like you were going to mount the bayonet anyways they hate pistol grips cut it off even with the bottom of the lower receiver , pistol grips hang below the gun the bottom of the gun is the lowest part if the receiver they hate adjustable stocks , not cool for 6 foot you and your 5 foot wife to be able to use the same gun buy two guns and pin the stock at the correct length for each of you or use a fixed a2 style stock remover the bird cage flash suppressor , and file off the threads this might be possible to put a thread protector on then drill a hole off center through the threads and put a roll pin through that would meet the definition of Permanent as it has been used in the past , if not silver solder it on based on some videos epoxy might be perminet enough to meet the letter and sprtit of the law use only 10 round magazines or pin your 30 round mags to only hold 10 rounds. depending on how you handle the threads you could easily revers all this in a few hours and for about 50 dollars when you can move out of the state there are other ways where you can keep all of these features but must load it from the top by hinging the action open

Since the bump stock ban announcement things have been picking up I have seen more interest in the last couple of days then the last 6 month combined!
Even picked up a couple stripped lowers and a Bushmaster upper for myself to complete a gun.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Bump stocks are fun for about 10 minutes. Then it goes on the shelf. Lol. Much handier without it.
