Hello All,

Was wondering if anybody recognizes this type of design or if it is homemade. It is a friend of mines fathers. No marks were seen on the pan or springs. I thought the chain added some character. I noticed some twisted links. I would like to think this is evidence it was used and held a bear in the past. Any Information as to the manufacturer or value would be appreciated. Thank you all.

Nearly every hamlet and village had a blacksmith capable of making a trap. Even traps with initials or marks are nearly impossible to identify unless it was a prominent blacksmith. Your friends trap is typical of those found out east.

Value I would say around $325 or so.
