Hey yall, just a quick question....I have 45lbs of frozen shad leftover from catfishing season and was wondering if anyone had tried SHAD for predator bait and if so how did you use it for cats and or coyotes. Thanks in advance for any information much appreciated

As oily as them little buggers are it seems they would be good to make fish oil out of.

Years ago I put them in a blender and rendered the oil off some and used some as paste. Grey fox seemed to love it.

This^^ don't underestimate them, predators love about as much as the catfish, I've also put them on coni triggers & caught everything including otters.

I use them a lot for coons. They work for cats and coyotes but not as good as some other stuff. I grind them up whole.

Just put the bottom of the net in the bucket then bounce it up and down. If you use a bigger net use a cooler.

Yep been on those trips where you neded a cooler! Those shad are perfect rod a reel sized bait. BIGFOOT I know but I like the ice gone before I start! Action is very slow when your bait and sinker are sitting on the ice! A guy would get drunk as a skunk waiting on a bite
