Well this is embarrassing for you I would imagine. Refs call 100 penalties against us and we still spank you. I was actually hoping the US would win a gold for once.

I have been opposed to that method of deciding an otherwise team sport since it was started. That being said, congrats to the US and to Canada, incredible how hard and well those women play that game. True athletes all of them and great to watch.

Yes it got late! But the wait was worth it. The US outplayed Canada in the overtime period but could not find the net. Our goalie was the key factor in our standing on the top of the podium. Interesting that many of the competitors on each side here played together in college or do so now. They all knew what each one was capable of doing and it came down to execution. The Canadians have a very good penalty killing team but 12 minutes of playing short handed takes you out of playing offense as well.
