Question for the experts, how do you keep lure at a certain consistency? I have ground up mice and red squirrels to a paste but would like to have it more runny, will aging the stuff help or do I need to add some sort of liquid to it. I have added glycerin and pure skunk quill to it plus a stabilizer. Stuff is pretty thick? Has a good smell.
Thanks
Jim

adding stuff will change the smell. adding something like beaver tail oil may not change its effectiveness. may even improve it. will make it thinner.

OK, so does aging the stuff make it more liquid, I read on here how folks make a batch of lure and late it sit for awhile. I know that the compounds within the lure will interact more with aging just was asking if it makes a lure more liquid?

I am working in weather that is cold all the time and find most commercial lures lose their effectiveness at minus 5 f. I have the best success with Gusto, really like its consistency in the cold, have access to lots of skunk quill.
Thanks
Jim
