we have a problem in society.
we have lots of uninformed ignorant people that want to make decisions based upon feelings.
We don't teach the Constitution in schools, we don't discipline children anymore, we don't want to be judgemental about others, we are more concerned about the rights of a few than the rights of the many, we don't teach wrong and right, after all its all relative. In a nutshell we have become a permissive society. I know all of you don't fit in to this but society is being pushed that way by a loud vocal minority.

So if you ask not only a liberal but a moderate or even some conservatives about the 2nd amendment you'll hear stupid answers.
Its not about hunting, its about self defense from others but primarily about self defense from a tyrannical government.
An AR15 typically shoots a pretty mild some might say weak cartridge, your average deer hunting gun shoots a more lethal cartridge.
An automatic and semi-automatic rifle are 2 different things and an AR15 is not an automatic rifle.
An AR15 is not a "military spec" or "military grade" rifle, it was designed for the civilian market.
I hear all sort of facts and statements spouted out about guns and less than 20% of the time they are correct.

SO you combine the ignorance of the the masses with the shrill emotional hysteria of the left and you get where we are today.

The totally ignorant idea that banning an inanimate object is going to stop evil people from doing evil things.

When that doesn't work then it'll be we have to ban all guns.

This last school shooting illustrates how the incompetence of our government is the last place you want to place you and your families safety.

But again, there are many out there that want others (gov't) to do for them what they don't want to for themselves (security).

One of my favorite lines when faced with the need to ban or add additional restrictions on firearms is to ask why? The answer is always some form of the need to stop the killing of others. I then just ask one simple question, Why don't we pass a law against killing others?
