I ordered some 3/16 tempered mighty s hooks are they heavy enough for coyote. Should of asked first before I ordered them

I would think you are fine with short chains. Maybe long chains too.

They call them mighty for a reason. I've pulled pogo's out of the ground with a stake puller and the S hook never opened.

I still got some earth anchors in I'll attach a couple and see how they do. I had to change a couple of traps in a step down dirt hole this winter and it was a pain trying to get them undone with quick links.

I’ve had two quick links fail over the years, but never an S hook ! I re used S hooks for several years before I found out you shouldn’t. Sometimes I believe we over think a lot of this stuff but with our 24 hour check those S hooks should hold any coyote we have accept the two legged varieties !
