Interesting, can't buck that I've always used the offsets, might have to get a dozen reg. jaws to see for myself. I'd bet the reg jaws would be an awesome mink trap tooo...

Common sense catches alot of fur..

In my experience when trapping the live market. Mostly reds and greys didn't have coyotes back then. Is that the weight of the trap was the main factor In foot damage. You get a heavy trap whether It's a offset jawed trap Or a closed jaw trap stuck on that fragile footed grey fox and your going to have some problems. Then It's also about the fight In the fox. I don't know of any animal pound for pound that fights a trap more then a grey fox.
We used a 1.75 sized trap with Inside and outside lams and there were times we still had some foot damage.

This was my first time using the offset 450s. I prefer regular jaw. But really on coyotes.the offset seems to hold better with less damage. Now Fox it seems to be opposite.
