I've had great luck with #3 Bridger reg jaws. The jaw spread is bigger than a number 4 long and the adjustable pan allows for some tension before firing.
Reasonably priced compared to the "nicer" beaver traps too.
They do work on coyotes for me in winter, and do beaver work for me in fall and spring.
It's a great beaver trap seriously.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I've been using Bridger #5 4 coils and CDR 7.5's since I started in '03. Earned a decent living trapping nuisance beavers for 6 yrs with them...only a handful of times did I find an empty trap if tripped.

MB750 for me. If you search your question on here, you'll see its the overwhelming favorite foothold trap among beaver trappers on here.

If your using longsprings now, you might as well stick with that and get some #4 amd #5 longsprings. I like these in the bridger, duke, and sleepy creek variety. And if you can get them, the original Blake and Lamb #4 longs.

Buy 750's and never look back. You can be confident they will do they're job if you do yours.

TS85's for me, now. I've used a large variety of traps for beaver over the years, but after a year using the TS-85's, including a bit of nusance work, I doubt I will use any other footholds.

Just doing what I want now.

Bought some 750s. They are very powerful, and have a huge jaw spread. I recall maybe one sprung trap without anything in it. We can only use them on drowners here, and based on the power they have, I wouldnt feel comfortable using them for live hold without some mods.

Thats just me tho.

WCS has a new 7.5 jaw spread trap, with spring levers and 4 coiled that is the same as the Old CDR for 34.00. Also comes in an offset wolf model. From what I understand they bought CDR out and started producing the same trap with better quality springs. The 750s and bridger 5s have served me well but I'm gonna get a WCS Pro 7.5 to check out.. Great pics on there website.

Also from what others have told me the KO Beaver trap is a great beaver trap too.

750's here. I, too, would like to try the new NO BS Beaver trap.

The 750 is a good trap but you may not like the trigger. Try one before you buy a bunch. I prefer a dog on trap but everyone has their own preference just make sure you like them before you buy a lot . I like the Bridger #5 coil, but if you buy a bunch of the 750s and don't like them they have a good resale value because they are so popular.

The new nobs beaver trap. Is by far the best beaver trap I had my hands on. I run 750s, CDR, and the sleepy creek 4.5.
