Could it have been the Gophinator Gopher Trap https://www.wildlifecontrolsupplies.com/animal/WCSGOPH.html or one of the other traps on this page- https://www.wildlifecontrolsupplies.com/removal/Gopher_Traps_under_Rodent_control.html

The Gophinator Gopher Trap is made by Steve Albano, his web site is at http://www.traplineproducts.com/

those are similar to the death klutch. What makes them better? I have been looking for something different also.

Never had much luck with death klutch regardless of what I tried so stick to the good old leg holds. My brother on the other hand was just the opposite and couldn't catch a cold with a leg hold. Not giving up just yet and have considered trying the Gophinator but never knew the difference til now. Thanks iayogi!

Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.
