Periodically, when different species of mice start to show up in my bird photography brush pile stage, I enjoy studying their behaviors and movements with my cameras while feeding. Yesterday I took the time to photograph a pair of Meadow Voles feeding on bird seed. One of them was more attracted to my watermelon rind birding decoy without seed in in it.

Here are a few captures in the share. I am surprised the hawks and feral cats haven't discovered them yet. In a few days my mouse traps will harvest them for trapping bait.

After setting a trail cam at that location overnight, I found there are 4 of those critters.

I am reminded of when my Greenhouse was attacked by those little long tailed woods mice...no live footage here though.

They are kinda cute grin

Good clear shots, those.

I think it can be more difficult to get the wee things in sharp captures, than the bigger things.

Well done, Jonathan !

Coyotes sure like em, saw a female jumping up and down on them in hard snow, saw her eat 3-4 of them.
Then I got into position and took her, she had a curved spine, never saw that before, center of her back on stretcher looked like a snake

The last pic you can see a larvae or nymph wood tick on the ears. As well on the side is what looks like a engorged tic.
