Hey All, I'm brand new to trapping of any sort. I've spent many, many hours on the forums here learning and also borrowing all kinds of books from friends. This site has been a fantastic resource.

One of my good friends helped me set my first 330 today in a creek channel. Everything went pretty smoothly and I learned a ton.

I did, however, dip my big game gut gloves gauntlets a little too deep in the creek and took on a gauntlet full of water. What's the best way to dry gauntlets? Can I put them on my boot dryer or will that break down the rubber?

Thanks for you input and for the wealth of knowledge on this site.

I just turn mine inside out at night when they get wet. I don’t have any problems. I’ll wring them out if there’s excess water.

Try not to puncture them, because they get punctured easily enough on their own. Super glue small holes soon after it happens, and it’ll help prevent the holes from getting worse imo

If I am driving between spots I turn them inside out, put the defroster in the truck on high and lay them on the vent on the dashboard. If they are damp or cold it warms them up and dries them out pretty quick.

Other than that I use a boot dryer or turn them inside out and hang them inside overnight.

Stuffing them with newspaper will remove a most of it.

Thanks everyone. Made my first trap check (ever) yesterday and low and behold, it held a beaver! I had my son (3 yrs old) and my buddy and his son (5 yrs old) with me. It was pretty awesome...

That’s awesome. I bet there was some whooping, hollerin, and assorted sounds of excitement coming from the group. Am I right?

What I like so much about trapping is you think, plan, do, and then get a chance to see if you were right the next day.

Thanks Aix. There was certainly some hollering, with me being the main culprit! My buddy happened to have chocolate in his hunting jacket and we had a celebratory chocolate round with the kids.
