the Valkery is more about heavy bullets at longer range than short range improvement. running a 60gr vmax as an example 3300fps from a 224V and 3150fps from a 223R vs getting a 90gr with a BC of .563 to 2700 fps vs 2450 If your looking for shots inside 300 yards your gaining a half inch at 300yards over 223rem if you need to shoot to a 1000 yards your getting 6 feet 6 inches of improvement with the 90gr 224V it's a lot of money for a half inch but a great deal on 6 feet 6 inches.

I was think bout having more impact a 90 gr bullet hitting a coyote at 300 yards vs a lighter 55 gr I haven't shot any coyotes at 300 yards with either so I guess I would be asking the guys who had if they felt like the coyote didn't go down fast enough with the 55gr that they thought it was worth the extra money or if it worked well enough often enough that it would just be putting more money into each shot.

For me there is not enough of a difference to the 5.56 to make it worth it. For the further out stuff I have the Grendel

it falls short of a 243 , but you could build a 243 AR10 Or the 243WSSM ... that fits in the 15 Platform

one of the best ar calibers out there for long range in ar 15. wssm fell short on feeding in bolt guns. but feed really well in a semi. Just be prepared to drop some coin to pick one up.
There is no try or try not, only a coyote in the trap or not.

You will need a different bolt and followers for the mags. I think.

One thing I forgot to mention is that. Most of these new fangled cartridges for the AR15 platform that promise more speed have one thing in common and that is a larger case capacity. Nothing wrong with that at all as you need more powder to push a bullet faster with the same maximum pressure. Here is the crunch though. You also need a longer barrel in order to use that extra powder. Aint much point in just blowing the stuff unburnt out the front of it. I see this at the range quite often that folks turn up with a AR chambered for speed as it where but then have the thing castrated to 16 inches. So all that extra powder stays unburnt right at their feet. With a 5.56 in a 18 inch barrel, one can push a 62 grain bullet well north of 3200 ft/sec. with next to no pressure signs. Sometimes size does matter.

Dangit, all I need is another ar caliber: 5.56, 223 Wylde, 6.5 grendel, and 300 blk out. I've got one of each and a stripped lower and upper that I have parts kits for...better get to building I guess... Well with the wylde , the .556 is obsolete. So yo could re barrel that in Beowolf lol
