Looking to buy a new pair of chest waders for the upcoming season. I do a lot of walking and have coyote sets along the way so need to be durable and comfortable and I care about quality and comfort more than money. Thanks for suggestions.

I might be a bit backwards compared to most but I like the lightweight breathable waders with separate lace up wading boots. Especially if I have to do much walking. Neoprene makes me way too hot and sweaty if I have to do much moving. I just dress appropriately for the weather and the waders go over that. You do get what you pay for with the breathable waders. Most of the cheaper ones are not very tough. I currently have a set by Frog Togs that I got at cabelas and they have held up very well. The higher end fishing brands like Simms have a very good reputation as well.

How's the knees hold up on those?

I've been wearing Cabelas breathable camo waders for several years. They are very light and I hardly know I'm wearing them. Dress in layers to match the weather which may range from 70 degrees to below zero during trapping season here in WI. The knees are heavily reinforced. Best part is that Cabelas brand boot are now warranted for life.

Yes, the Cabelas breathables will run about $220, but you can usually get them on sale for $169 to $189. The 600 gram thinsulate boots will keep my feet warm when trapping through the ice in winter.

I do like the idea of the breathable ones . Some days I would be burning up in my neoprene waders.

Trapperless turned me on to acton prairie. Thick felt lined and tough. Love them. I remember getting them was tough.

I picked up another pair of those in late fall, from an outfit in Canada up by Great Slave Lake, and they'll ship here. I am getting ready to put mine on here in a few weeks...hippers for those that are wondering .
