Teachers pushing leftist ideology is the main reason my youngest children are homeschooled.I live in the county and thought my kids were getting a quality education at their small public school, until I talked to them.My oldest daughter had an English teacher that pushed homosexuality daily.Even gave her sick, twisted homo glorifying propaganda to read and told the kids not to tell their parents.I remember one piece of writing in particular,"How Blue are You" or "Are You Blue",something like that. The main concept was that we are all gay to varying degrees(or differing shades of blue). The school was informed and the teacher had a "talking to"but I'd had enough. You have some truly warped people screwing kids up so bad that they think there are 300 genders and they should control legislation.Of course this suits their needs as the warped Leftists are well aware this is the next voting bloc.

That's not me saying teachers are a bunch of Nazi's. What I am saying is, it seems, that our public educational system has entered the political arena. Hard to deny since the big discussion around the walk-out is that, kids are being encouraged or allowed to make political statements at public schools, using taxpayer resources (since we paid teachers to be there and supervise the kids even if they aren't teaching them the required reading, writing, arithmetic). Neither politicians nor news services have missed this opportunity to press their agenda. It's a slippery slope.

Students were suspended for walking out of my local school district.

There was a symposium held with police and politicians where students could ask questions and express their feelings. Students were warned that walking out would get them suspended. Some did anyhow.

A student at a Minneapolis high school was assaulted by a mob of students after he carried a pro-Trump flag during the National School Walkout on Wednesday, police said.

The attack took place while students at Southwest High School were supposed to be observing a moment of silence to commemorate the 17 students and teachers who died in the Parkland, Fla. shooting last month, WCCO reported.

Police said the student was waving a flag in support of President Trump when he was ambushed by at least eight classmates. The mob forcefully took the “Trump” flag from the student, who suffered minor injuries, and damaged a camera he was carrying.

A school resource officer was able to stop the attack. There have been no arrests or disciplinary actions taken against any of the students involved as police continue to investigate what happened.

I’m glad my local school district leans less left than many of those being discussed here. Even their name, the Brandywine Bullets, is politically incorrect!

And now climate change isn't political. Unbelievable.

The school policy on guns is not applicable to what a student does when off school property. Bunch of people who are scared someone might shoot them and they have no concept of how to protect themselves or any will to protect themselves......is very disconcerting.

Right down to demanding the student takes a sticker off the window of his truck that he drives to school , threatening to "punish" him if he doesn't.

It is easy to see where all this is heading.

Come on we all know pictures and stickers of guns are dangerous.

They intimidate coward law enforcement daily and make them wet their little panties.

So let's do the right thing and send our kids with a second amendment support shirt to school everyday and we will make this a national lawsuit.

He wasn't suspended for not participating. He was suspended for going and sitting and a classroom instead of study hall like was instructed by the school.

Wrong. Read the actual story here:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/educ...m=.1b939d523027

"Jacob Shoemaker, a senior at Hilliard Davidson High School in Hilliard, Ohio, was in fact suspended. But not because he chose not to join his classmates and the hundreds of thousands of students across the country who walked out of their classrooms to protest gun violence in the wake of a Florida school shooting that left 17 people dead. It was because he didn’t go to a designated area of the school where the non-protesters were supposed to be and instead stayed by himself in a classroom."

Thanks for posting that. It wasn't in the early story that i read.

But it makes my point even better.

He was being punished for his method of protest whereas the other students were not. What about his 1st amendment rights ?

Where was the teacher that was being paid to teach his class that hour ?? I suspect we know the answer.

I believe the actual truth is that he did not want to make a political statement/take sides.

Anti went on walkout.

Pro went to study hall.

He did neither.....because he did not want to take a side. and that is where he was scheduled to be....no teacher because the teacher participated in the walkout.

But I could be wrong.....
