On the Bridger #2 dogless, do you bend the extended coilspring holders out of the way or cut them off or just leave them as is? Seems they would catch on the chain or swivels as they stick out so far. Thanks!

I have not cut any off. I can see that they may be needed for 4-coiling as the springs weaken from use.

They could be bent inward to prevent the chain from getting in there, but I haven't done that yet either. I ran 9 dozen this past winter with minimal problems.

The chains do hang up on smaller foxes and small coons as they dont have the pulling strength against this bigger trap. I have 12" to 14" chains with 4 MB swivels so it mostly negates this.

Ive not seen any problems with this with coyotes and cats.

I don't cut mine. It seems to be easier to bend the trap back into alignment using them as a guide. And if you cut it too short the lever could twist off ..
Oftentimes the wild thrashing of a caught coyote will torque those traps and twist them up.
