Kids have a right to free speech but also have the consequences that come with it. My daughter walks out of class in protest there would be consequences. She knows school is her "job" and she expected to do her "job" while she's there. Like I told her many years ago, "I'm not your friend, I'm your daddy."

I think it should be a sandwich, piece of fruit and milk everyday. Pack a lunch box if it's not good enough. Glad you weren't the lunch lady in my school, grinch.

I have no problem kids standing up for their beliefs and rights as I taught mine to do just that.
But these kids are followers that are protesting they are being propaganda into a certain way of thinking. All this protesting stuff will only create more activists in the future.
We will see a uprise in society of activist groups standing up for b's things. Get ready for it as it will come as these young people are getting the attention and they will get addicted to it.
Politics or agendas should not of been allowed in public schools. I also predict teachers will whine even more on parents and students not respecting them.

probably asking why the poor lunch lady. I looked at my kids February lunch menu. Beef Nuggets. I asked her WTH beef nuggets are. she said they're like chicken nuggets but beef. I mean come on. not even trying anymore. That deserves a paddling. Lunch was my favorite subject in school and I can't abide anyone not taking it seriously. Another time I asked her what was for lunch and she said TACO IN A BAG, but they just put the chips and stuff right on the tray. I had to explain to her that THE BAG is an integral part of a TACO IN A BAG. Unacceptable. Around here they're called "walking tacos." Who the heck wants to eat tacos off those nasty school tray?

My kids all took a lunch with them. Caught a lot of flack from the school counselor over that. How in the world they expect kids to eat that garbage is beyond me. For whatever reason though they don't want kids eating food for lunch.

So You don't support people exercising their first amendment right? Seems to me that most of the walkouts could have been prevented, if all the Schools had installed Electronically-controlled keyless door locks...

DO you? Then you must be beside yourself that for many years kids cannot talk about guns at school or wear gun related clothes......maybe you should organize a protest?

Here's a concept. Instead of walking out of school to "express a constitutional right" why not teach what these constitutional rights actually mean. Not just the 1st, but the 2nd,the 3rd, and so on. I know it's a mind blowing concept that children should actually go to school to learn.

I know it's a mind blowing concept that children should actually go to school to learn. You mean teach something that goes against their political parties view? Shame on you for wanting teachers to teach history and rights that are written to protect our freedom. That's just absurd. Would you not want the teachers to teach kids how to protest and become little activists? Sarcasm noted
