I think it should be a sandwich, piece of fruit and milk everyday. Pack a lunch box if it's not good enough.

Kids have a right to free speech but also have the consequences that come with it. My daughter walks out of class in protest there would be consequences. She knows school is her "job" and she expected to do her "job" while she's there. Like I told her many years ago, "I'm not your friend, I'm your daddy."

;)It'd give the kids another reason to march.-and parents would probably join them.

I have no problem kids standing up for their beliefs and rights as I taught mine to do just that.

But these kids are followers that are protesting they are being propaganda into a certain way of thinking. All this protesting stuff will only create more activists in the future.

We will see a uprise in society of activist groups standing up for b's things. Get ready for it as it will come as these young people are getting the attention and they will get addicted to it.

Politics or agendas should not of been allowed in public schools. I also predict teachers will whine even more on parents and students not respecting them.

Around here they're called "walking tacos." Who the heck wants to eat tacos off those nasty school tray?

They should all face an automatic 30 Day out of School Suspension! At the end of the School year, they should all be notified that because they were absent from Classes for at least 30 School Days, they have all failed their Grade; and will have to repeat that Grade in the Fall!

My kids all took a lunch with them. Caught a lot of flack from the school counselor over that. How in the world they expect kids to eat that garbage is beyond me. For whatever reason though they don't want kids eating food for lunch.

Seems to me that most of the walkouts could have been prevented, if all the Schools had installed Electronically-controlled keyless door locks. Not only would such a lock prevent people from entering a School, but a button would have to be pushed from the Main Office for the doors to be allowed to open from the inside. Can't get in, or get out of the School unless someone in the office pushes that button to electronically open the doors.

Heck, they could do that for all the classroom Doors.

good idea Canvasback. They can double as penitentiary's. kids convicted of a crime don't get to leave at 3.

Hmm. Sounds surprisingly like a prison. Locking doors, and all. Maybe that is a the point. Heck give all the kids little orange jump suits and it'll be easier to spot them when they sneak out smoking and throwing rocks in the creek.

How about just get back to teaching and leave the politics at home.

Wow what a concept that would be.

DO you? Then you must be beside yourself that for many years kids cannot talk about guns at school or wear gun related clothes......maybe you should organize a protest?

Here's a concept. Instead of walking out of school to "express a constitutional right" why not teach what these constitutional rights actually mean. Not just the 1st, but the 2nd,the 3rd, and so on. I know it's a mind blowing concept that children should actually go to school to learn.

You mean teach something that goes against their political parties view?

Shame on you for wanting teachers to teach history and rights that are written to protect our freedom.

That's just absurd.

Would you not want the teachers to teach kids how to protest and become little activists?

Sarcasm noted

If you were able to give this talk, and a kid challenged your idea of just what class of free man should be armed and who gets to decide who gets armed, would you hold up that "join the NRA" sign with the Eagle over the flag?
