Finn you need to get you a NRA hat and wear it to the city. People will question you and you'll have the opportunity to educate folks on what the 2nd amendment means,what an AR is, etc. I would say you could do the same with a GOA hat but they're not the known "villain" at this time so I don't think you would be afforded the same opportunities.

What about people who don't use turn signals and habitually speed while driving? They are endangering the lives of others with their vehicles. When are we going to get some laws to address this problem? Right now anybody, even a 9 year old, can buy a vehicle.

An 8 year old can still buy a screwdriver also and carry it legally even to school. This has to stop. Won't anybody try to save the children?

Putting aside all the PC nonsense your course of action is simple.You can teach your children your beliefs or you can have their head filled with the beliefs of liberal teachers.Its called providing guidance,something Parents should do anyhow.It may be hard to compete with teachers who are "buddies"(often close buddies)but at least they'll have a broader view of a given issue. The agents of the state are not your friend.They do not want people teaching their own children.If you ever attempt to homeschool you may get a chance to see the type of snakes they truly are.Make sure you know your state laws,get a receipt for submitted paperwork and join the HSLDA. I found myself in EXACTLY this same situation in 1969 in college.. It didn't end well for any of us involved.....on either side.
My dad had a 6th grade education. Still, he taught me to respect everyone. But he also taught me that teachers are not always right......and it is my [b]duty to question everything[/b] they say.
This is exactly what many of these kids are doing with the walk out. On the contrary. They are not questioning anything. They are following the directives of some left wing hack they've never heard of in an effort to NOT be excluded by their peers. It is the most egregious form of conformity.

Yeah, that's the environment I want for my kids to learn about exercising their constitutional rights.

good idea Canvasback. They can double as penitentiary's. kids convicted of a crime don't get to leave at 3. There were many times that some of the Students in my High School, had to stay in School after Classes were dismissed for the Day. Usually didn't get to home until around 5 PM. In School Suspension, is what they called it. Now, that was nothing more than putting a group of rowdy kids in a room and have them do NOTHING!!, but wait around for the 5 PM bell to ring. What did it accomplish ?? NOTHING! It was an absolute waste of time!

It's hard for me to believe so much of the country has rotten teachers working in their schools.
My teacher taught math, the sciences(those were my favorites)english, reading, social studies and a bunch of electives. The only time politics were discussed was in the social studies classes. No teacher ever tried convincing us to do anything politically except consider different view points and think for ourselves.
I asked my 3 sons, 17, 19, 21 years old if their teachers pushed any agenda. They all said that none did. They said that students do sometimes make their politically positions known in speeches they make. But what could be wrong with that? I want my sons to hear the thinking that goes into forming opinions other than those they they may hold. And I trust that they have been brought up to make wise decisions. So far it has worked out very well for them.
Judging by the grades the two older boys have been earning in college(biology and physicians assistant majors), their high school teacher did a wonderful job.

Now lets us common sense once. What would it take for you, I or our kids to plan a day that would disrupt a school day (nationwide)? It would be much easier if it came from the top down, than from the bottom up wouldn't you think?

I agree but we live in a world of categorizing. Law abiding gun owners are categorized as bad people just because some whacko uses a gun to carry out attacks. In this case law enforcement including the fbi failed at their job. The politicians failed on using their agendas to ignore systems to prevent crimes. The school itself failed by signing a agreement with law enforcement to not punish crimes. Some teachers are allowing the public schools to be used for political agendas. I know of a teacher that teaches politics but twists it to favor democratic views. Teachers unions support democrats. 2 + 2 = corruption So in return of categorizing law abiding gun owners as being bad than all teachers get categorized as well. Simple solution if teachers don't want to be looked that way than keep political agendas out of the school period. If these kids want to protest than they can on their own time and locations.
