bctomcat trapper Joined: Jul 2009 100 Mile House, BC Can	I would venture to say a 2" butt tapered over 4' or so to a 1/2" tip would be suffient. Better yet IMHO is to use split boards. The only constant in trapping is change so keep learning.

backroadsarcher OP trapper B Joined: Nov 2012 Frazee, MN	I cut 3 new ones out today. Went 60", 1/2" at the tip with a 3 inch butt end. My others were shorter and didn't do the job they should have. Hope these work better.

The Beav trapper T Joined: Dec 2006 Wisconsin	If you put one In from the mouth end and one In from the butt end you won't have any problems. Starting out at 3" and ending up with about 1" would be my suggestion. The forum Know It All according to Muskrat
