With the 330 on the bottom, do you place the dive stick directly above the 330? Or, do you place it upstream of the 330; so, you have the beaver on the bottom when he gets to the 330?

beavers can swim thru those rapids like its nothing but the current can make keeping a coni set harder! in heavy current I prefer a stiff trigger. loose triggers can vibrate free. besides it sucks catching suit cased leaves! but they are easy to carry out.

Well, I caught what appears to be a two year old. Not really what I was hoping for. More than likely there are one or two left. I'm going to give it a break for a week and return next weekend to look for fresh sign. Is it just me or are lake beavers harder to trap?

My 330s have been useless as well. The pike are spawning in that area and I keep catching them or snapping my traps. I'm setting them on the hardest setting too.

If theirs notches in the bank Use poplar peeled at the set and place a 330 at the wide spot towards the creek out of the current. Can use food lure or caster too.

Common sense catches alot of fur..

Personally, I prefer to set it directly above. I place a few sticks vertically and lay my dive stick across so that it stays in place, or, better yet, set it where they’re ducking under something already. That’s a money in the bank set whenever you find those, look and feel for them where trees/treetops block their path
