Until a year or so ago, I could get several years and dozens and dozens of catches on one Belisle 330 trigger before it broke the trigger wire. I have replaced triggers on several Belisle 330 traps this year and only get 1 or 2 catches before the wires break. What has happened to Belisle parts quality? Belisle needs to address this.

Any of these body grips just come with some trigger wire in there so you know what it's suppose to look like. You change it out with something else...I like annealed #11 gage trapping wire myself, it can bend quite a few times without breaking. You can bend it to the shape of a trigger that fits your style of trapping without it breaking.

Not sure if it would work on the 330s but I've been using old bicycle spokes for replacement triggers on my 120-160 sized Belisles.
I think it may be a spring steel and is more durable than the factory supplied.

I don't know why anyone wants that hard type steel for trigger material. I don't need durability in the sense that the trigger will not break. I need to be able to bend them, shape them, and they need to be made of something that can take the abuse of bending multiple times just from contact with the animals. That material is annealed wire, because it's softer. If you bend a clothes hanger many times, even by accident, it forms a weak spot and breaks there.

I think they break easily as well. I twist mine together 8-10 times and I think it helps. When they break, I have replacements already shaped and ready to swap out.

I certainly get more catches than 1 or 2 before they break. Over the last year, I’ve changed the trigger wire on three or four traps, and they see pretty heavy use. If I used wire configurations other than what I use, then I would expect to break more from bending them into place after a catch. Since I twist them and use a T, I don’t see much bending with a catch. I had to bend a lot more when I used V or I\ wires

I replace ALL body grip triggers with Circle triggers

Thanks to u Les that's what I do now, no more busted triggers.. Haven't had to replace one..
