Oh I liked nothing better than to get up and get photos from the air of where I am headed. Trapping, hunting etc. makes a world of difference when navigating along the rivers and sloughs of Alaska.

I have done that too but mainly I bought the negatives from Aeromap in Anchorage. They have most, if not all of the state.

Holy cow I had no idea. You were ahead of your time in technology Ken.
I would have spent a lot on those had I known. ;0)
I always took advantage of airplane time to cover my trapline and hunting areas etc.

That is handy too when you have a creek crossing ahead of you and you want to know the best spot, or the trees and brush are too thick to make out terrain features on the ground. A Cub and an old Instamatic camera were the tools I used before the days of commercial air photos. The bad part was waiting for the film to be developed and returned
