I have some strong Anise oil that I would like to use as a bait on rat floats. What can be used as a base or should I say filler so that 1 oz of anise could be added to so that it would be a paste to add on a float.

Use the green wet Sawdust from Aspen or popular with some real Anise oil and you'll have to fight the Beaver and Muskrat from the mixture.

Thanks John. I'm going to play with that one.

I can't say if this is the same 4herb that I make and use for the base in my Muskrat#1 and Woodchipper lures. It might be worth checking out though.

Good old lard out of the grocery store. Crisco doesn't work.

Heat lard stir In oil turn off heat and keep stirring till cool. I use this combo with peppermint oil. It's a real rat killer.
Water proof and smear able.
