A few small flocks started showing up in my area for the first time yesterday for this year's breeding/nesting season in traditional locations - soybean stubble fields with puddles. Recent rains melted the ice and opened up an ample food supply for them to forage. They are the first species of shorebirds to arrive in the area during spring migration. Nice. I haven't seen those yet but today I saw a pair of Sandhills standing in a snow covered field. Go figure.

The shorebird with the distinct voice. They are back just seen one today. The clarity of those pictures are very good.

nice pics, they always make depressions in gravel areas here, paths etc, for their nests with the camo eggs. See a lot of chicks running around in the fields here. I showed my son how they will drag their wing last year if u get around the chicks

When I built my house I had one nesting on the dirt right next to my bedroom window. Never needed an alarm clock.
