Teachers shouldn't be dealing with crap from parents- and definitely not students. The touchy feely everybody wins attitude that comes about by lack of accountability to the community and too much influence from a distant state government allows that. If kids are mean-kick them out- if parents whine kick them out permanently.

Nope thank your legislators.......the money is there, and has been. Ask the the OK Dept of Health about their money, and any other OK dept about waste and mismanaged funds. We don't burn gas anyway, we burn diesel, which got a higher tax than the gas. Your legislators cut production tax during an oil boom from 7% to 2%. They are idiots. Old news , my brother. Okie law makers have been a soup sandwich long as I can remember. But they aren't calling for audits are they ? Agreed and nope she's not calling for any audits. Nobody will vote them out, and the majority of those up for reelection don't have an opponent yet. Turkey season does start Friday though

If they DO get sent to the office, it really doesn't do anything and most of them shrug it off or laugh about it. Calling parents usually does no good as they think their kid can do no wrong. They think it must be the teacher's fault. Rarely the case from my experience.

Who does the auditing at the state level? I'm guessing there is a state GAO that is supposed to handle that...

Speaking of wasteful spending...
Any of you other Okies noticed how fancy our new bridges are? Reliefs of the flag and scissor tails in the concrete and all that jazz?
Wonder what that adds to the cost of each bridge.

Now Oklahoma . Grown adults throwing a fit
If you wonder where all these anti gun crybaby student protests come from , look no further than the teachers who influence them all day on a daily basis
Just listen to some of the interviews ..................Seems like someone held a gun to their heads and made them become teachers for no pay at all ""It's easy to get "A's" if you're an education major. Maybe that's why one out of 10 college graduates major in education. Research over the years has indicated that education majors, who enter college with the lowest average SAT scores, leave with the highest grades. Some of academic evidence documenting easy A's for future teachers goes back more than 50 years!"

So they can get good grades in college? My wife was valedictorian of her highschool a 4.0 student with a brilliant mind. Could have done anything. But she had a calling and passion to teach children that might one day be doing surgery on your heart or maybe just lifting the hood on your truck to fix it. Just like anything else, there are lazy teachers and there are horrible teachers that couldn't spell or do math much better than some of the students. But that is another problem to do with a broken system. The education system is a mess that starts out at the top and there is very little a teacher can do about it. It's a darn shame the way things have ended up.

"So here are the five easiest majors (according to this professor’s study) and my haughty, yet worthless, opinions of each. I give some basic ideas of what you can do with each one, but don’t be surprised if the job you obtain has nothing to do with what you studied. 1. Education. If you are an education major, congratulations! Not only do you have the easiest major, but you and your classmates also have the lowest entering SAT scores. All of my fiancé’s roommates are education majors, and I’m constantly baffled at the elementary-school-like projects they’re assigned. While I busted my butt writing Advanced Synthetic Techniques lab reports and learning how to solve differential equations, they were coloring — literally. But teachers are always needed so you will most likely have a job when you graduate. Plus, you’ll have lots of pretty drawings to put on your parent’s fridge." I feel for your wife. Must be tough being around all those brilliant education majors all day.

You had to earn what you deserved.

I hope they do too. I also hope they teach how insidious and spirit killing it is to give up the personal responsibility of negotiating ones own worth of ones own labor. There's nothing wrong with paying dues to an organization to do all the compromising for you. Mike

The public education system is FUBAR. I would just have your children educated by a college graduate that did not just party hardy during college. That is what I did for my children. I love my children, not yours.

You had some college geek teach your kids instead of a real teacher? That's like getting the kid that bolts the wheels on the bycicles at Walmart work on your vehicle to rebuild the engine, lol.
