It wasn't quite as windy at the marsh for the duration of my romp. I headed for home at dusk. There were a few waves of 25-50 migratory Turkey Vultures working the thermals in the early evening. Waterfowl activity was minimal considering ample open water over the refuges after ice out - saw a few small flocks of Ring-necked Ducks, Widgeon and Common Mergansers that were out of camera range.
At least I didn't come home empty handed. I was fortunate to get close to a lone Great Blue Heron feeding in the shallows next to the cattails.
