You seem to care very deeply about which organization this Pennsylvanian chooses to financially support. You spent so much time and effort trying to dissuade me I can come to no other conclusion. While I appreciate your concern, it is unnecessary and unwanted.

I have seen a number of threads now on the NRA, and several post in regards has to what many feel the NRA actually does, or areas some feel the NRA comes up short. What I'm about to post may very well change your mind, and if not that is ok as well, because this is a free country, and we are all entitled our own opinions.

Working for several years on matters concerning trapping I can say the NRA has always been in the corner for Trappers. The NRA supports trapping, and they do it with actual people in the many different committee hearings, that involves legislation that pertains to trapping matters. The NRA works with trapping associations if asked, and their ready at a drop of a hat when trappers need the help. Every trapper (I feel) should be a member of the NRA, that for me is a no brainer. I have set in on many of committee hearings representing trappers, and have had the NRA right beside us on many occasions, and thankful for that support. I have seen the support for not only gun owners, but sportsmen overall, just what I have actually seen happen people, nothing more. The way I feel now is I'm getting support for not only trapping, but as a gun owner as well, and that's not a bad deal.

In Illinois without the NRA, and the ISRA (Illinois State Rifle Association) we would not have gun ownership like we have today, but rather we would have something along the lines of maybe Russia.

I support the NRA. Does my support of the NRA help our cause, or does it hurt our cause? Does not supporting them help our cause? Where would we be without them in recent times? The war has changed, the fight is different now. I am not in favor of the compromises that have been made, but I firmly believe that things would be worse without them.

I am glad that I have read some of these discussions though. I will be looking into other groups to support like others have said. But I will not turn my back on the NRA.....

Why don't we discuss how you constantly bash the republican party, but never mention the democrats. Why don't you talk about how in MN the democrats are pushing legislation to increase gun control? But, the republican party refuses to budge on the issue. It's no secret the democratic party is the party behind more gun control. Even my democratic friends admit that. But, I've never heard that from you. You are a democrat masquerading as a Libertarian.

Democrats are obviously the enemy. They tell you so to your face. Republican's tell you they want less gun laws, but no moves have been made federally. They are in control of both houses of Congress and the presidentcy.

In our own state, the Republicans failed to pass constitutional carry to present to the govenor because they caved in to police union pressure.

Again can you purchase a gun today in MN? From what you have for leadership and the comedians and wrestlers you pick you get what you voted for!

I cannot purchase a pistol in MN. I cannot because I refuse to ask permission. However, the NRA and Republicans seem to support background checks, asking permission and paying a fee.
