I have about 6 muskrats that are on the stretchers and dry. I still have 5 more to do. What is the correct way to store these for future use? I was going to tan them all together later to send in for a hat or mittens, but may also do it myself. I'm not sure if they can just stay out as is, or if they need to be thrown in the freezer, etc. Also, on a side note, if you've been getting rats but they won't hit your floats, what are the possible reasons? Thanks

Best way to store those dried pelts is in a freezer.

Other wise a cool dry place - not a basement or a barn.

If you choose not to store in a freezer, check occasionally for things like mold, moths, mice and bugs.

I have vacuum sealed fur in the past but never dry fur. I am sure that would work great though.
