I recently bought some @ a garage sale. Never tried 'em before. I normally use tree steps. The climbing sticks kind of seem like a good way to go. I haven't tested them yet, but after looking them over (& talking to a few deer hunters) I'm kind of wondering why I waited this long to get some!

I bought a set last year to try out, I had a heck of a time getting a 15' ladder stand up, its top heavy and the slightest breeze starts
it swaying! This year I`ll use the climbing sticks to get the top section in place, then add the ladder sections one at a time.

I think it will be MUCH easier this time.

Bad idea if you do that you probably will not get it put in the right spot on the tree and you will still have to let it loose to position it and seat the bottom of the ladder. Much better to cross rope the top behind the tree after leaning it up and seating the ladder. Then climb up and strap it off

I'm pleased with how the climbing sticks work & happy that the fastener ropes seem to be the strongest / longest lasting and somehow mouse/squirrel proof rope I've ever seen
