The wax advertised for trapping dirt is "flake wax", the only "flake" wax sold is "soy wax" (my daughter had a candle business, you can do online search and learn what is/isn't)
Trappers pay over $2/pound, candle makers pay $1.05/pound, hobby stores sell in between at $1.45+-
Go online and search "bulk flake wax" and you will find several candle suppliers that sell in 50# boxes for around $54
Look for "100% natural-no additives" because some wax do have additive that help hold scents; you don't want these.
Look for "container" wax because the melt temperature is much lower than wax for "pillar" candles.
No wax is "odorless". That is hype.

Do you all get it from the suppliers? Or is there other places around towns that will have wax that will work. Ive never made wax dirt before, and am looking to.

Gentlemen, as a new trapper, I guess that I get caught up in the hype of things being labeled specifically for Trappers.

What wax EXACTLY do you purchase at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s? Although I know to stay away from the scented waxes, I know how my luck goes. I’ll spend money on something that I shouldn’t have while thinking that it was the right product and waste money and time doing things. And probably waste a lot of dirt.
