safari OP trapper S Joined: Mar 2014 Posts: 12 wisconsin	i had a chance to look at a #6 newhouse atc bear trap that i was thinking of buying, but after a closer look, i got gun shy about the trap. there seems to be to many flags as to its authenticity.the springs look like they were cut with a burner. there are lot of grind marks on top of the jaws, and else where. the teeth look too round, like a herters. the jaw post looked turned, and you can see part of the post holes. i would think that an original newhouse wouldnt have that many rough features. what do you all think. thanks randy

ddfen2 trapper Joined: Feb 2007 Posts: 128 Arizona	Good thing you didn't buy . Look at the nut on the cross for pan post,that tells me for sure. It is a Herters 6 someone put a Newhouse pan on,and put the chain on base.

Started out at $1500 and now it has a better description (Herters with Newhouse pan) and an $800 price....
