Never paid much attention to it when I caught it. I just noticed it was darker, it was the last coon of the year and I caught it on the new property that I bought


Sorting through the tanned pelts I just got back. I know it was the last one I caught as it has the orange zip tie vs yellow on all my other coons

Looks like what is refered to as a Fisher coon. The true fisher coon are almost black with some silver on the sides. I get 1 out of around every 50 coon. Most have straight gaurd hairs.

Caught one a few years ago in a coyote set. Sold it to a taxidermist friend of mine for $20 in the round.

I was always told fishercoon were 100% black,,, no rings, mask, nothing, just pure black fur.

Seen a huge one like that sold to groeny for $101 4 years ago

I have caught and seen several odd colored coons. Never caught an all black one but I have seen a few others caught.
