I believe the butterfly in your very first picture is a Giant Swallowtail not a Tiger Swallowtail. The next 3 pics are definitely Tiger Swallowtails.

I believe the butterfly in your very first picture is a Giant Swallowtail not a Tiger Swallowtail. The next 3 pics are definitely Tiger Swallowtails. CH, I only have these other views of that individual. Are they detailed enough to call it a Giant Swallowtail? Jonathan

"Western Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio rutulus) The Western Tiger Swallowtail is a common butterfly in the Western U.S., closely resembling its counterpart, the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail."

Tiger Swallowtails have different color variations. Some females are all black with blue spots. I believe the butterfly in your picture is a different color variation of a Tiger Swallowtail. Not 100% sure but I think so.
