Found one this evening to film while it was feeding on the seeds of a Mullein plant. Posted in the share with members interested in birding.

Wow, I never would have guessed they eat seeds. We see them up here but it's always in winter feeding on suet. Thanks.

had the good fortune of having both a downy AND a hairy on my feeders at same time twice this year. Really never knew the size difference until seeing them together. Always thought the hairy was just a little bigger than the downy.

Not at all....I'd say at least twice as big and maybe even better than that. Like a fox is to a coyote......
