Anyone have an idea of what they will start out purchasing roots at this year and care to post it? Or is it still too early?

Paying 550 on seng and 39.00 on goldenseal

Sold my 13oz of dry sent yesterday. Bringing $850-$900 dry depending on quality. Got the $900 which I'm satisfied with. I always ask the buyer to critique my finished product. She said other than a few broken roots looked great. Don't wash to much either. Transport in paper bag and not plastic. I've noticed the buyers down here don't grade it, but rather inspect quality . They may ding you if overall it's small. This place has always done me good.

That is a good price on Seng. I never grade seng. The only way I might grade seng is if a digger throws in some root that he grew himself. Also if a digger has a poor handled product. 99% of what I buy never gets graded.

Current prices on yellow root?

In my area yellow root has been going for around $40 dry and $7 for the tops. Anyone have an idea what ginseng will start at?

Goldenseal root is 43.00 on the root and 9.00 on the tops. Ginseng at this time is harder than usual to predict. with Hong Kong riots and Trump tariffs on mainland China, things may get a bit dicey early in the season.
My buyers do not want dirty Ginseng nor do they want dirty Seal. They want the seng that has the growth rings showing a bit of dirt, but if you have Seng that has dirt that is clumped on the root or you have so much dirt the root is gray colored, they will either turn you down or decrease the price of the root. The Goldenseal must be nice and clean with the bigger roots broken apart and washed in the areas that would not wash clean without breaking the roots.
