Now ya know why I don't use T stakes, all my rebar have nuts 18-24 inches. More versitile for land and water
Thanks, I've seen those in catalogs for ages and it looks to like that if you drive it in solid the T would be a hangup and if you don't it's like not staking. They still them so I had presumed they were used on BG traps or down end of drowner wire.
I'm mostly a clog user but when I stake I like the 1/2" with nut mine are mostly 21" because that is what worked out for even division of the rebar I had.

Wolfdog, you can do the same thing if you trap chain is 10" with a universal on the end just make your extension chains 10' and J-hook to the 10" chain. Then you can be short on a stake.
Rule of thumb how ever log the chain is the 'possum will make the catch circle three times that big and two times deep a trash pile. 'Possum on a short chain with three universals can't tear up so much mess.

Thanks for all the input guys ! I haven’t caught a coon in a 1.5 coil for years gave all of my old ones to kids years ago. I think this will be fun and the chance of catching an otter weellll that’s just icing on the cake !

Keep in mind I’ve never tried to catch an otter before, gonna be like Christmas every check ! Ha ha gotta love trapping !!!
