Apparently these are no longer in production. Does anyone have good pictures of them? The YouTube videos aren't all that clear. Thanks.

Don't think they were in production, I think he just made those three utubes and sold from them, a one man deal. This topic came a year or three ago I think someone said the guy had died, at the time I searched for a patent application ,thinking it would have drawings, and found none. Real neat demo but apparently didn't catch on with trappers. He did give his name in one of the demos and you might trace him that way. Pause the three videos in several spots and you should be able to get the gist of how to make one, go through all the comments and you may find a clue. His handle indicates the UP.

Like tjm, I searched for patent info and anything else I could find on this guy and came up empty. I even played back the video over and over again where he gives out his name and couldn't quite make it out. I finally gave up.

Would not take much to build. I may try but I have doubts it would work very easy on the 4.5 SC- very strong.

The larger SC aluminum "conibear setter" has notched that work well on #4 dls. They can't horribly if you try to use on a 4.5 SC. They then can slide off, a potential dangerous deal with that trap.

I bought a home-made Jiffy type setter on here for 4.5 Sleepy Creeks- Doesn't compress enough to set and you have to put something under to compress further. I aim to fix that with a welded piece of metal.

With a small mod on the "bottom" and a heavier swinging loop they would work the same as the Jiffy Setter. That would handle the heaviest of double longs.

In the comments of the one video, 10 months ago he said that he still sells them.

Here's the email to contact the son. He will give you his father's phone number, the man in the video.

NP. I know that I emailed him. I want to know how much they are and get me one before the opportunity to do so has passed forever.

When I bought mine it was in the 50 range if I remember right and I would buy another in a heartbeat because it was the best setter I used till it disappeared somewhere somehow on the line

By the way I got it originally for the sleepy creek 4.5s but it didn’t hurt that it also worked on 4 and 14 jumps and 330s

The only reason I have not bought another is that I was told they were no longer made now I will have to look and see because it was one of the most useful tool I had on the trapline

I'd probably buy 2, because last season I lost my driver for 4 days. Kind of sucked having to change over all my anchors half way through the trip.
