Montsanto is evil, not because they manufacture herbicide. Herbicides have there use, but like antibiotics I believe it is overused. They are evil because they pushed for and were granted a patent on life. Unprecedented in history, and will set a precedent in the future. By adding genes from other species of flora and fauna they declared they created a new life form and deserved a patent. Life is not patentable, in my opinion, only trademarkable. At least that was the stance before GMO's. I am not saying I am right, just saying it doesn't take to much creativity to imagine the dystopia this could lead to. If you are what you eat, and what you eat is owned on a genetic scale by someone else. Are you not then owned by someone else?

I equate Roundup with Agent Orange. I hope you’re joking! Not even close. Everyone needs to slow down and know the facts!! I spray hundreds of gallons a year. I’m a hunter and a outfitter. My livelihood depends on wildlife!!! I would not use it if it hurt bird numbers. There is a chemical that I don’t use called Paraquat. It has gained popularity in the last few years because it kills what roundup won’t. As a farmer I think it’s dangerous. I will not use it, but EPA says it’s ok. I guess they are all knowing like the state of California Do you not use neonics. Monsanto has trained farmers, if you dare call them that anymore, as chemists. Most "farmers" have not and could NOT grow corn or beans without roundup or gmo's. I agree that roundup is way better than the aatrazine and 2-4/d combos of the past but roundup has perfected the monoculture cropping of today.

Glyphosate has revolutionized modern day agriculture. The yields produced by "organic" crops are not near enough to feed the world. The regulatory process that each GMO has to go through is incredible- years of studying before it will be released. Do you guys really think "organic" is organic? Or "all natural" is really all natural? Its a labeling craze that gets into your wallet- and it works. People (general public) are ridiculous, uninformed and seem to "know it all", and they run their mouth and run these companies down, when in fact they are what feeds our growing population.
I traveled to Raleigh, NC 2 weeks ago to tour one of Syngenta's research labs. It is incredible what they are doing, the time effort put into finding new traits to grow better yields with better QUALITY grain. If this research does not get done, there will be many hungry desperate people in this world in the years to come.
GMOs get such a bad rep, when in fact, they are very beneficial. Quick example, sweet corn with a corn earworm resistance. This prevents from spraying another pesticide over the top of your sweetcorn before harvest because the earworms are not present. A lot of GMOs result in less pesticide usage (satisfying consumers and saving producers from more input prices.)
So to answer your question, NO, I do not believe Monsanto is evil.
Keep telling yourself that about organics. Organic farmers do not depend on cars (ethanol) or high fructose corn syrup to market our crops.

Funny how 100 years makes a difference. In 1918 people we're glad to have a belly full of food. Modern day fools are trying regulate them selves to starvation Fools LOL, anyone that bought into Monsanto's lies are the fools. When you screw with Mother Nature there are always repercussions. For one, prove these great yields that are solely because of GMO's. Also, you do realize that some of the people Monsanto hired to put out positive research were convicted on felony counts for lying about results. I guess all the Monsanto lovers believe in climate change too lol.

Keep telling yourself that about organics. Organic farmers do not depend on cars (ethanol) or high fructose corn syrup to market our crops. That's correct now instead of spraying your food w/ pesticide, even an organic pesticide such as Bacillus thuringiensis, They insert it into every cell of the food you consume. That is alright because that organism is on most everything? The only thing it is commonly in though (aside from BT corn) is caterpillar stomachs. The good thing is it is a gram positive bacteria, so if your body gets to large a buildup of it there are several gram positive antibiotics that kill gram positive bacteria (penicillin being the most common). Unfortunately they used penicillin as a genetic marker when creating BT corn which helps create antibiotic resistance......see where I am heading? And I am not even against genetic modification, but you can keep your chimeras.

The problem with genetic modification is that when you modify to get a desirable trait it doesn't just modify that particular trait...
It would be akin to selectively breeding the aggressiveness out of a certain animal. You get rid of the aggressive behavior, but you may also reduce disease resistance or get an animal that is blinded more easily by sunlight.
The unintended consequences are what get you every time.
Do I think Monsanto is the devil? Nah. Do I think they have a handle on the long-term consequences of their products... Not really.

They've been evil a couple decades, ever since they ran seed cleaners and other farmers out of biz. All GMO seed producers are in that boat. Syngenta, etc. You got that right. My driveway needs roundup in its chemical mix.
Will my toes ever warm up?

Im assuming everyone here drinks water since its vital to existence. Do you have any idea what goes into your water, I do, been treating water for 30 years. Nothing goes in my water. I and millions of other people living in rural America have wells on our properties. The one on my home property is 320 feet deep. I have it tested occasionally. It's water.
Eh...wot?

Anybody seen a video of the inside of their hometown water tower???? You don't want to. I've seen it. Nor does anybody want to see the inside of the water pipes carrying water into their homes. Only safe drinking water is in the store bought cancer causing plastic bottles.
Life ain't supposed to be easy.
