Hey, how do you guys treat conibears? I usually use dye and wax but I’m looking to try something different this year. Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks

I spray paint mine. Good coat of primer followed with a good paint. Gives me something to piddle with on these hot Summer days. I do my 330's every 2 or 3 seasons.

I waxed mine one time. Did not like the result. Triggers were unreliable. Had to use a propane torch to clean the trigger and dog and an area on the jaw.

If new degrease, then dye or paint.

Spray painted ours camo. Dull flat light brown base, a couple swipes with flat dark brown and black after the light brown dried. Works great.

I have a dip that you add gas to it for the mix and that is all I do with the conibears. I did at one time many years ago dye and wax them and that is the end of that for how it was with that.

Spray painting Is such a pain In the butt and It's messy and you have lots of waste.
Go buy some acrylic latex paint. Mix It 1 part paint to 2 parts water stir well while dipping. Shake to remove excess and hang to dry. Dry In 5 or 6 hour. Oh did I mention CHEAP and It holds up well on body grip traps and trapped used In the water.

I bought some latex Barn & Fence paint from Farm & Fleet. It's the right color and holds up well.

Brown Formula One work very well grin The problem with spray paint is it doesn't cover inside the spring coils and the tight spots, dipping does..

I hear ya slimy. LOL

I can't afford that high priced dip $20.00 a quart. LOL
I can buy a gallon of missed matched paint for about $8.00 a gallon.
