I've been meaning to try some for years and never have. I don't remember ever reading or hearing anything about it, but I like experimenting with different things almost as much as I do trapping, so I'm going to try some. I use the liver, the brain and the tarsal glands, along with my meat trimmings with good results, so why not give it a shot? Done like you would horse, or cow hooves, it would seem like it would hold some attraction to canines and probably other critters as well. Your thoughts?

Judging from the lack of response, I'm either onto something huge here, or everybody thinks I'm nuts. I'll assume the latter, but I'm still going to play around with some.LOL

Several times a year the topic of horse hooves comes up on here. Seems like a lot have tried it but most seem to believe it's only par at best as far as an attractive.

I've never experimented with horse hooves either, but I thought the liquid was more popular than it obviously is. I thought I'd try deer hooves and being one of those gotta see it for myself types, I may still at some point. Thanks for your reply and the info, I appreciate it.

there is a gland between the split in a deers hooves. might work to cut the whole foot off right above the hoof. boil for a bit then age like with the frog in a horse hoof .

Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790)

I wondered if the interdigital glands between the "toes" of the front hooves might add something positive to the odor of the finished product, but again, I've never experimented with them. I'm going to save my hooves and have a couple buddies save theirs for me this fall, boil some up and age it, then test it alone and with some other ingredients. I won't know until I try it. Thanks for your replies.
