I do not think you can use them in any state now. even in water? (I know you can't in Michigan)
When life gets me down..... you know hunting/trapping season is closed.

They're legal in Maine for underwater sets. It is unlawful to use a trap with teeth on the jaws unless when set, placed, and tended, the trap is completely covered with water.

Here is what Iowa law is
FOOTHOLD & LEGHOLD TRAPS You cannot set or maintain, on land, any foothold or leghold trap with metal serrated jaws, metal-toothed jaws or a spread inside the set jaws greater than 7 inches as measured to the outside edge.

FOOTHOLD & LEGHOLD TRAPS You cannot set or maintain, on land, any foothold or leghold trap with metal serrated jaws, metal-toothed jaws or a spread inside the set jaws greater than 7 inches as measured to the outside edge. How do you measure the inside spread to the outside edge?
Just doing what I want now.

How do you measure the inside spread to the outside edge? Guessing it's to the widest part of the inside spread. Indiana specifies measured between jaw posts and perpendicular to the frame.

That is how Iowa dose it I do by the jaws widest part. There was a thing about conibears and then they post a drawing on how to tell the measure of the trap.
