Wow, what a story. As time goes by, you can improve the story of course.

By the way, great work! I hope you were paid very well. That is a lot of work and a lot of results. The landowner should be delighted.

You averaged 2 per day. How many traps average? What is your catch percentage? I like to calculate my percentage.

I bet you would have gone straight to the doctor if that old coyote would have came up with a mouthful of junk!

End up with 61 coyotes in 30 days. Was on 13000 acre tract first 15 days Then moved to 21000 acre tract next to it for last 15 day. I got to sleep till 10 am today!! havent slept that long in months. Got to clean up and re-dip afew traps. Will start 25000 acre job around Sept 4 or so. To answer your question. I ran around 145 MB-550 traps. Its pine tree plantions. SO some times you can go for MILES with out seeing a track, turd, or scratch mark. Find your 1-4 year old cutovers and you in bussiness! Land owners are GREAT!! Their about 60% of my bussiness. AND 20% of my other clients are from THEIR refurals. I cater to them greatly. They pick the dates for - and to line up with when THEIR fawns are dropping. I give them top prority. Been my best client for past 4 years. ALWAYS book way in advance! smile

Glad to hear that it didn't have rabies and that you're healing up. Keep hammering the yotes.
