A neighbor showed me this photo of an unknown flower sent by a friend who has a few plants growing in a border next to the house. It doesn't appear very tall. That is about all I know about it. It is located 4 miles south of where I live on Lake Ontario.

The photo was taken yesterday. The flower buds, visible petal folds, clusters, color and serrated leaves may be enough for an ID.

Turtle head is a food plant for the Baltimore checkerspot butterfly. I’d be interested in some seed from that.

I think i have both pink and white ones. If I remember correctly, honeybees use the pink ones.

Here the pink ones are a bred hybrid of the variety 'Hot Lips'(hybrids don't often seed true), they are more compact and more blooms than the native white turtlehead.
