I have, with good results. Fur from around anus, anal glands, paws, lure made from paw pads, paw pads cut off and thrown in hole. I have used quite a bit from some of those old books. One of my favorite flat sets is a 3"-4" diameter branch or tree, 8' in length with a #4 dbl longspring chained to it. The tree is the backing and the drag, I lure a distinct portion, often a knob or knot of the branch and bed the trap in front of it. It's quick, easy, I find it on location and they don't go very far chained to it. Works great in winter with frozen ground.

Did u try using the feet? No this trip. Forgot my hack saw. For some reason, I forgot lots of stuff last trip. Hacksaw, 24 inch bolt cutter, grinder, and back up Dewalts drill with auger. Will cut off some feet and throw down deep dirt hole on next trip. May even try to stick feet up in air = and use in some type of Flat Set . Need to find = or figure out way to wire or stake down feet

Feet work very well, all by themselves no lure or urine added...
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..

My thought was = tent stake, wire the paw to it OR shortened wooden tomato stake = wired. I going to try it any way. Have bamboo on my property could use it for a stake. I have used bamboo as a lure holder in the past Work well

Iv'e use berks with cable also. as long as they have to work to take it. Same theory as the M44s.

I use WF, but use any anchor that they cant get away with. Hard to miss them, as they will have tracks all over trying to take it with them. I use grub stakes that I make up from a wooden peg and burlap too.

Lee Do you anchor your grub stakes down also? No Seth, I just put enough length on the peg to make sure it stays put. Usually make about three different lengths. Like the wood, (oak) because it swells up a bit in the ground. To pull them, I grab the wood shank under the burlap with pliers, and stick my driver under the pliers and pull up. The coyote ain't got the right tools to take it with him!
