Does anyone have any tips on enhancing certain odors in lures? For instance, keeping the mink smell strong when working mink glands into a lure?

I'm not an expert but to mink glands I added diethyl phthalate and zinc valerate and it seemed to hold its odor pretty well. I also use very small amounts of Canton musk to provide lift in some formulas.
