Ok. Here is my question. How do you make coyote glands in to a liquid? I have about 60 coyote anal glands in a large ziplock frezzer bag. Try grinding them up. Still to stringy. FIRST = I froze them. Then cut them up with razor in to = what I thought were very fine strips. THEN ground them up = Frozen in grinder. Seamed like they were just to stringy! I want liquid OR a paste like say = YODEL DOG . Idea's PLEASE??

I maybe wrong here but I believe u can tincture them to get a liquid product. Maybe some of the professionals could give some details on tincturing them and what to use. I tried grinding them and also thought they came out very stringy.

I'm far from a professional, but I use a food processor to "grind" my glands into a pasty state. Then I either preserve them fresh, or age them, depending what I want at the time. I'm sure there are better ways, but I'm happy with the results. As Yes sir said, I've tinctured glands when I wanted something in a more liquid state too, but again, I'm no expert.

$3 mini chopper from the thrift store...….keep 1 dedicated to each species.

Then rot it down over time, or tincture.

If you want more liquid, add more urine.I grind, cover in urine and let sit to break down to paste before I add anything to them.Probably a million ways to do glands, this it how I prefer to use mine.

Ok . Lets say I = Frezze grind. Then re-frezze and grind again. Im adding JUST enough coyote urine to make it be covered, like you said. HOW long will it have to sit, to break down in to paste??

I let mine sit for 2 years before I use it.Mine works from fall thru season but I add a couple secret things to it,lol.I put a little urine in with them to help break down quicker. I don't really think it matters,it all smells like coyote.

Thanks. But to be honest, I was hoping for a little quicker than 2 years. Something quick, I could use right now , would be great. Just looking for a way to use some of the 60 coyotes I caught on last 30 day trip = to be used on This 30 day trip. A fresh liquid , or paste gland lure is what Im want now. But I will probably use some of the new coyotes to put up for a while = to make AGED gland lure

It looks like your only option is to use a food processor if you want it now.

Aging glands provide a desired odor and consistency.. You can process them to any stage of application whether it is a fluid or paste like consistency to your choosing.

It is all up to you. That is one of the of the challenges of lure making. You need to determine the odor and presentation type for use that you desire.

A food processor is priceless to get a material to the size and consistency that you feel is right. If not it will be stringy in many cases. For a consumer you can deal with that the best you can. It can be messy in the field and could cause contamination issues along the way to gloves and equipment at times.

It is a matter of adding more fluid of your choosing of the desired amount or adding a thickener to make it more paste like. Factor in something for anti freezing properties as well.

As danny said fresh glands work equally as well as rotted/heavily tainted glands do! Or you could work something out with bob with the glands you have for a finished product! Bob is more than fair to work with! Not to mention he will get you on track to proper cleaning and preparation of glands! THANKS BOB!!

I will probably get another 50-60 anal glands this 30 day trip. This question has been asked before im sure. BUT . How many coyote anal glands does it take to make a gallon??? My process is = Kill coyote. Put on tail gate.Cut out anal gland. Put in small ziplock bag. But THAT ziplock bag in bigger ziplock freezer bag. Put in Yeti cooler. I wear deposible green hostpital gloves, when doing this. They go in ziplock bag, in tool box, so that trash does blow out of truck

I grind mine and preserve fresh, add good urine to half and enough glycerine to make a paste after I preserve it. A few drops of lovage and small amounts of valerian. Can be used right away but its better the longer it sets to meld.
Makes em pee LOL..
