As many as you want, or until you lock one up under a rock or root and you have to cut it loose or an attachment point fails. They are my favorite anchor.
Pulling them if the ground is froze solid and not just surface frost, something is going to break. Either you, the attachment points or what your using to pull the stake. An auger may help you get it back out in frozen ground.

I use them. They work flawlessly. Use a drill to yank them and it goes real fast. Do yourself a favor and use chains forget the cable.

I have a few of our traps set up with them. I use them in potential theft areas and haven't lost one yet. Several years ago we had someone run over one of our traps several times (the tracks were obviously what they did, backed up and went forward several times) and I'd wager it was because they couldn't pull the chained superstake so they just destroyed the trap. Hope that they threw their back out after first several pull attempts too. Jim

I use that same bulldog stake puller. In Oklahoma we have red clay so when it's cold it's hard to pull but we rarely ever have frozen ground more than a few inches. However we do get some ground that resembles cattle concrete. So I use the same drill setup as Tejas and then yank them with the bulldog. I used cable last season and lost heads pulling them with the bulldog but never lost a head predrilling

The finned ones with the retrieval ends are fairly easy to pull, though if they hook the aforementioned tree roots it can still be fun.

Iv'e used chained super stakes since the late 90s, never thought of the drill removal, There ya go again Tejas teaching this old dog new stuff.. Thanks. I normally use the beast puller, if the ground is froze I open the S hook, mark em with wire and come back when it thaws.
Common sense catches alot of fur.. Pay homage to all you harvest..

I put a wrap of #3 chain with a few extra links and a bolt with wing nut around handle of my tile spade where the wood handle goes into the spade head. To pull a super stake, I just lay the spade across the trap chain, undo the bolt and wing nut, attach the chain loop to the chain on the trap and secure it back with the bolt and wing nut. Pulling is just a matter of leverage and lift up on the D ha dle of the spade. Only works before ground is froze up like a rock. Then I have to chip them out or get them later after the thaw.

The above method would result in a broken spade handle in the heavy clay I deal with and I rarely have to deal with much frost. I use the finned ones with the retrieval cable and pre drill to get them in and some of them are still a bear to get out.

I almost always pull my set after a catch. Unless it's a cat in a yote set then I leave it. Don't see many fox on this side of town and I've yet to trap one.
But the yotes avoid the catch circles for the most part. They don't mind getting real close.
I caught more doubles last year by pulling the set and using the catch circle as a lure. Back to back doubles one time.
