What type do I have here? I took in 9 chick's from a teacher friend who hatched them in class. She didn't know what breed she had and I'm not sure if this guy is a cross of some sort of not. Any ideas?

I think you're right. That there is a chicken.

We had an "easter egger" that was colored like that, but I am certainly not a chicken expert

Ameraucana isn't an easter egger, although many believe that. Easter egger is a totally different "mutt" breed.

Looks like a Salmon Faveroll rooster to me.

I just looked they breed up, I think you're right!
He's a very timid good natured rooster.

Favorelle will have a fifth toe (two back ones) and some feathering on the leg.
A nice calm breed but mediocre layer. That one will be a terrible layer.

Hoover hatchery from their site?

Every backyard flock needs a colored egg layer. Our Americana will give you an assortment of colors from turquoise, to olive to light brown. The Americana breed comes from the Araucana and Ameraucana mix and has different color plumage variations. It is because of this genetic combination that our birds are not meant for exhibition. APPROX. 240 MEDIUM EGGS/YEAR | EGG COLORS: BLUE, GREEN, LIGHT BROWN | MATURE WT: MALE 5.5 LBS. FEMALE 4.5 LBS.

I know what you’re saying Lawdog. Many hatcheries list them as an “Americana” which there is no such thing. The “Ameracauna” and “Araucanian” are two distinct breeds of pure bred birds. When I got into breeding and hatching chickens a few years ago the whole Easter egged thing had me stumped as well. Finally after tons of researching, I got to the bottom of it, lol.
