I've been experimenting with ingredients on my wife's cat but she wont let me bring any skunk essence in the house lol! Just wondering what peoples thoughts are on adding a touch. Other than that it's just going to be castor, olive oil and silver vine in the lure.

Lazarus, you say alcohol based stuff will degrade the SV. Wondering if skunk essence will do the same?

A little skunk in a formula can add additional push and attraction to the material in a formula. Just remember skunk is quite volatile and will bleed considerably over time from the blend.

Thanks Bob, these lures are just for me so I assume I could just add a little refresher when needed?

Yes you can add to suit your own preference. Don't over do it a little goes a long way if you are doing yourself I would spike the batch a couple of weeks prior to extensive use.

I'm thinking of a castor/SV combos as well.
I didn't think to use olive oil. I ordered some Petro to use.
Maybe a grease lure would be great for SV

I should get some BTO for this formula.
I bet some sweet skunk would go nice as well.
Hmm

Olive oil was mentioned in the silver vine thread. Just need a little of something to make it a paste.

How about trying some horse hoof lure? I've used it on post sets and connected on coyotes. I'm sure they were wanting to rub or roll on the scent before they got pinched.
