I am looking into getting a 32 magnum or 327 federal pistol. Whats the muzzle blast like? do they work well for small game? Accuracy of different guns. Just looking for general opinions.

I acquired a 32-20 last year, and I believe it has slightly more powder capacity, but I'm not totally sure. It's quite manageable to shoot.

I've had a couple of 32 H&R Mags over the years. One was an H&R and one was a Ruger. Both shot well and ammo is pretty available on line and in the bigger outlets such as Cabela's, Scheel's, etc and my local store gun shop would keep a box or two of Federals on the shelf for me. Very little muzzle blast and/or recoil. I think it's a pretty underrated caliber. Smoking little round.

I've had/have 4 of the 327's. Taurus, Charter & Ruger sp101. I love the round, but in 327 the blast is tremendous. Much tamer when firing the 32 H&R rounds or even 32 long/short. That is one of the really nifty things with this particular chambering is the multiple cartridges it will fire from potent to pipsqueak.

I've had a Ruger Single-Six in .32 mag for 30+ years now. Great little gun and round.

It's a very accurate combo. Great for small game hunting or just plinking. It's the gun and cartridge I take with me on the trap line.

Both the gun and cartridge are very amenable to hand loading. You can load it light for dispatch or hot for hunting with the same fine accuracy. If you cast your own bullets, it can actually be cheaper to shoot than .22 rimfire.

I can't think of any problems I've had with either the gun or cartridge.

I have a Ruger single six in 32 mag and a single seven in 327. The 327 will rattle your teeth while the 32 mag is more shooter friendly. The majority of the time I shoot 32 mags in my 327 or at least a mild loaded 327

I agree with what was said above. I have a Taurus 327 snubbie and I usually keep it loaded with H&R Mags to cut down on recoil and blast. I'll say this, there is no way on God's green earth I would ever shoot a 327 without hearing protection unless someone or something was trying to kill me. Of course all snub nosed revolvers are very loud. Mine is accurate.

I've always had some interest in the 32 cal revolvers, but never moved on one. I've been studying the 327 Federal a bit. The Hornady reloading manual states the pressure levels of the 327 Federal far exceed those of the 357 and 44 magnums. Recoil and muzzle blast are significant in spite of the small cartridge.

I like the fact that the 32 H&R mag can be fired in the 327 Fed revolvers. Pretty much the same as 38 spl in a 357 mag.

The smaller caliber revolvers ( and probably auto's later on ) have always been popular. Back in the days of cap & ball revolvers, the Colt 31 cal was one of the most popular of all.

I like the versatility of being able to shoot 32 S&W shorts, longs, 32 mag and 327 all out of the same revolver. Actually there is one laying on the seat of my truck right now. Rally Hess always told me a 32 mag with a 85 grain XTP just flat SMOKES beaver. He was right.

I have nothing clever to put here.

So....I'll pitch a very subjective question out there ; What are your 327 Federal revolvers of choice ?

Ruger SP101, Ruger Single Seven ?. etc....
